Researchers analyzed data gathered from medical schools across the boonies between 2000 and 2010. Of 124 single schools, 29 percent had a minority faculty development program in 2010. Those schools had a nearly the same increase in the percentage of minority faculty members, from 6,5 percent in 2000 to 7,4 percent in 2010, as those without minority knack development programs, which increased from 7 percent to 8,3 percent.

After adjusting for capacity and school characteristics, the researchers concluded that minority faculty phenomenon programs were not associated with increases in minority faculty, recruitment or promotion, according to the study, which was published in the Dec 4, 2013 son of the Journal of the American Medical Association insect. The findings manifest that faculty who are underrepresented in medicine, relative to the general population, have seen little increase in representation across all schools during this moment period, while the prevalence of individuals of minority status in the general population increased to greater than 30 percent by 2010," said den author Dr James Guevara, of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
